K-State to add four to ring of honor
Kansas State will add four former football players to its ring of honor at the season opener vs. North Texas, the school announced Thursday.
David Allen, Martin Gramatica, Terence Newman and Mark Simoneau will be honored in the Aug. 30 ceremony, joining six players inducted into the ring of honor in 2002.
"We are thrilled to honor four of our football greats who helped lay the groundwork for Kansas State football and who are tremendous ambassadors for our university," athletics director Bob Krause said in a release.
The game also will kick off a season-long celebration of K-State's 1998 team, which reached the cusp of the national title game before falling to Texas A&M in the Big 12 championship
